Four Hundred

Four Hundred promises to heat up your lunch, dinner, and drinks routine with a welcome dose of sweetness, salt, and spice.

The relaxed contemporary bar and kitchen is a hidden gem that beckons to be uncovered by Sydneysiders. From the everyday local to the sharp-suited corporate and social seekers, those who venture into Four Hundred will find a playful and elevated drinking and dining experience – whether you’re chasing a quick lunch, a relaxed afternoon of boozing, or settling in for a night of cocktails and bites.

Four Hundred is a nod to the ancient Aztec story – The 400 Drunken Rabbit Gods. These cheeky rabbits fed on Pulque (the first form of tequila), got very tipsy, and out came their unique drinking personalities! The venue welcomes all 400 drinking personalities – it’s a place for everyone to get a little playful.

Much like the thirsty rabbits, guests are invited to let loose whilst sipping their way through an exotic collection of premium tequilas and cocktails. Making their mark as North Sydney’s hottest margarita spot, Tilley and Wills have forged an exciting partnership with Sesión Tequila, founded by Australian entrepreneurs Jennifer Hawkins, Jake Wall and Tim Freeburn. Guarantee yourself a zesty time with a classic or spicy margarita, before cooling it down with a lip smacking Mayahuel cocktail. Named after the revered goddess of Agave, the blend of Sesión Blanco Tequila, Mezcal, Aperol, passionfruit, lemon, agave and egg white “delivers an enticing and refreshing sour-style libation”.

If we’re talking about dipping into mischief, shake things up with Four Hundred’s Bottomless Lunch. Launching with Sesión Tequila, every Saturday for two hours, glasses will be flowing with margaritas, mimosas, wines, and beers. At $89 per person, this experience is the hottest way to celebrate the silly season and will undoubtedly bring out your inner rabbit.

When it comes to cuisine, expect bold Mexican flavours interwoven with creative takes on Peruvian, Spanish, Argentine and Cuban influences. Described as a “fun take on Mexican-inspired food for an Australian palette”, Tilley & Wills Group Executive Chef Brad Sloane (NSW Australian Hotels Association Chef of the Year), has designed a menu that features fresh local seafood, regional classics, street food, and share-style plates.

If you’re grabbing lunch on the run, individual plates such as the succulent Pinnacle Flat Iron Steak, Ancho. Spatchcock, and Pescado & Papas (a playful take on fish and chips) are sure to satisfy, but for a little more lunch-time adventure, get your hands on an irresistible sandwich like the Mojo Cubana loaded with BBQ pork neck and double smoked ham Swiss cheese.

For those planning an evening out, a spread of sharing plates brimming with delectable hand held bites, such as the freshest Snapper Aguachile will rise to the occasion.

Crowd favourites include a range of mouth-watering tacos that are best enjoyed alongside daring margarita sessions and a must have for group settings.

The venue welcomes formal and intimate events as well as casual get togethers in a Tulum-type space, reminiscent of the Mexican coastline. Designed by Sandy Grice, the bar is fitted with raw materials contrasted with deep coloured terracotta, natural oak timbers, and hues of blue throughout, encapsulating the Mexican landscape and its natural beauty. Striking a balance between sophisticated and cheeky, the hidden North Sydney sanctuary lends itself to letting your hair down and getting a little naughty.

Four Hundred will also become North Sydney’s hot spot for corporate and private events. Under the direction of sister venue, Greenwood Hotel’s expert events team, the venue will transform into an elevated haven that’s perfect for small groups, exclusive functions, private dining, and all your end-of-year celebrations!
