MOVA has extended its partnership with Essendon Football Club, naming AFLW stars Bonnie Toogood and Georgia Nanscawen as its newest brand ambassadors while giving Australia its first look at the brand’s new premium robot vacuum, the Z70 Ultra Roller.
The announcement, made at an event at Essendon’s NEC Hangar headquarters, builds on MOVA’s existing major sponsorship of the club’s AFL program. The global smart living brand, known for its AI powered home robotics, is now Co Major Partner of Essendon’s AFLW program for the upcoming season, joining a growing roster of club partnerships that already covers home cleaning, outdoor lawnmowing and personal care.
Toogood and Nanscawen presented MOVA with a personalised Bombers guernsey before becoming the first people in the country to see the company’s latest robotics range in action. The pair join AFL players Zach Merrett and Darcy Parish as ambassadors, rounding out a team that now spans both the men’s and women’s programs.
For Toogood, Essendon’s inaugural AFLW captain and a multiple All Australian, the partnership is as much about recognition as it is about robotics. “Seeing MOVA support our AFLW program alongside the AFL team sends a really positive message about where the game is heading and shows they value elite athletes equally,” she said.
Nanscawen, who returned from an ACL injury to win the 2024 AFLW Best and Fairest and has represented Australia in hockey at the London Olympics, said the technology had already found its way into her routine. “Training, recovery and preparation don’t leave a lot of spare time, so it’s great having technology that genuinely helps around the house,” she said.
MOVA Country Manager ANZ Nancy Zhang said the timing of the Z70 launch alongside the AFLW announcement was no coincidence. “What attracted us to Essendon wasn’t simply the opportunity to sponsor a football club. We saw an organisation committed to high performance, leadership and pursuit of excellence. Those are exactly the same principles that drive our teams as we develop the next generation of intelligent home robotics,” she said.
As for the hardware itself, the Z70 Ultra Roller is MOVA’s most capable cleaning robot to date. It pairs continuous fresh water roller mopping via the brand’s HydroForce technology with 36,000Pa suction, intelligent carpet protection, obstacle crossing and self maintenance, tackling the usual gripes of robot vacuums: dirty mop drag, missed spots, soggy carpets and getting stuck at thresholds.
It’s a fitting parallel to draw, elite athletes and their support systems both run on marginal gains, and MOVA is betting that Australian households want a little of that same precision applied to the weekly vacuum. For time poor professionals (athletes or otherwise) it’s one more task off the list.
