Speed is crucial in basketball, and no one brings pace quite like Curry Brand athlete De’Aaron Fox. With speed that scares and a game that dazzles and defies boundaries, it was only fitting for Curry Brand to create a sneaker that embodies the distinct play and personality of one of the NBA’s most impressive guards. After a year in development, Curry Brand is thrilled to officially announce the launch of the Fox 1—a signature sneaker designed for maximum speed and on-court performance, entirely inspired by Fox.

Last October, Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox made history by signing with Curry Brand as its first signature athlete alongside brand president and NBA superstar Stephen Curry. Now, Fox will become the first athlete other than Curry to have his own signature sneaker with the brand. The Fox 1 launched on Friday 6 December, in the ‘Happy Fox Day’ colourway. This bright blue and orange design with metallic gold accents is inspired by De’Aaron’s love of Christmas and his favourite holiday film. Priced at AUD $200, the sneakers will be available at UA.com.au and Under Armour Brand Houses globally.

“Creating the Fox 1 alongside the Curry Brand team has been an incredible experience and a real dream come true,” Fox said. “Together, we created a sneaker that not only performs at the highest level on the court but also feels authentic to me in its design and every detail. From the fox tail on the strap to the sleek silhouette and colourful accents, everything about this sneaker embodies the joy and passion I try to bring to my game every single day. I’m beyond excited to share the Fox 1 with the world and see players at every level wear this shoe as they chase their own basketball dreams.”

Designed to emphasise De’Aaron’s speed and encapsulate his spirit, the Fox 1 introduces a new look to the Curry Brand family. The lightweight, runner-inspired silhouette features a low profile with breathable, two-toned mesh built for speed. A unique strap across the top adds flair, with its end shaped like a “fox tail” for additional storytelling and customisation. The strap also provides additional lockdown support.

The fox theme continues with “fur” on the tongue and De’Aaron’s signature logo—a clever combination of a fox, the number 5, and the letter “D.” The Terranina suede overlay adds a premium feel and forefoot durability, while the TPU heel counter offers heel support. Zigzag edges on the lateral side nod to De’Aaron’s love of anime and his lightning-fast speed. UA’s patented FLOW technology in the sole provides superior grip and traction, hallmarks of Curry Brand performance.

“De’Aaron was involved in every step of the process, from sketches and wear testing to developing the colourways. Creating your first signature shoe is an exciting journey, especially with De’Aaron’s unique vision,” Curry said.

“Performance-wise, De’Aaron loved the FloTro technology and made it his own with personal touches that reflect his background and story. The most obvious new feature is the strap, adding a fresh aesthetic. Yet, the Fox 1 builds on the FLOW platform’s unmatched traction and stability, incorporating subtle details and Easter eggs that fans will love.”

The Fox 1 is a breathable, lightweight basketball sneaker built for those aspiring to play as fast as De’Aaron Fox. Curry Brand is excited to launch it just in time for the holiday season. Following the 6 December release, fans can expect two more colourways in December.

On 20 December, De’Aaron’s birthday, the ‘Happy Fox Day Alt’ colourway will drop, featuring a deep green palette, gold accents, and rich textures, perfect for under the Christmas tree. Then, on 27 December, ‘The Beam’ colourway will launch as a tribute to De’Aaron’s team, the Sacramento Kings, and their fans. Featuring light and dark purples with neon green pops, ‘The Beam’ celebrates the Kings’ famous rallying cry and post-victory tradition. De’Aaron wore this colourway during his unforgettable 60-point performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves, setting a new Kings franchise record.
