This victory not only cements LARGO’s place in the industry but also proves that it is possible to enjoy a refreshing, easy-drinking lager without compromising on taste.
Created by Oli and Louis from the chart-topping band Lime Cordiale, LARGO stands out as Australia’s first beer to be accredited by Climate Active, a government body that certifies products or organisations that undergo a process to understand and then reduce or offset some of the carbon emissions involved in their product or organisation. The brothers, known for their infectious energy and creativity on stage, have channelled their passion into brewing a lager that everyone can enjoy, whether they’re seasoned beer aficionados or casual drinkers.
Its carbon neutrality has been achieved by purchasing offsets in Greencollar’s Darling River Eco project and refers to the measurement, reduction and offsetting of all carbon emissions associated with the ingredients, packaging, manufacture and dispatch of LARGO products from the brewery (Public Disclosure Statement).
With its vibrant and quintessential ‘Aussie’ appearance, LARGO is a traditional Australian lager at heart, designed to be approachable and enjoyable for all. The beer’s easy drinking lager style, a well-established category in the brewing world, is being redefined by LARGO’s commitment to doing what it can for the planet. With its eco-conscious credentials, LARGO is setting a new standard in the industry, proving that you don’t have to sacrifice flavour or value to reduce the impact on the environment.
“Winning the Country Winner award is an incredible honour for us,” said , co-founders of LARGO. “We set out to create a beer that not only tastes amazing but also aligns with our values of striving for sustainability and inclusivity. LARGO is all about bringing people together over a classic Aussie lager that’s great on the taste buds and has worked hard to lessen its impact on the planet.”
As fans of Lime Cordiale will attest, the brothers bring a unique blend of fun, authenticity, and innovation to everything they do – and LARGO is no exception. This award-winning lager is already making waves across Australia, and with this latest accolade, it’s set to become a staple at gatherings, festivals, and celebrations nationwide.
