Drop the home brewing kits and drink up the tasty lagers, pale ales, IPAs and more. Drinking craft beers is an art (much like wine), your local bar and their brews to your favourite bottle shop to take home and enjoy the big day (or night).

Our duty was to cheer to many and guzzle our way through the best brews to create this list. *hiccup.

Ballistic Beer Co

At Ballistic, they have a simple theory. Fresh beer is the best beer. That’s why Ballistic brew in small batches, more frequently, and store it cold, so you get the same blast of flavour our brewers do.

Reef Red Ale – Naturally clean, crisp, refreshing, and easy-drinking malt-driven beer with light hop notes.
Low HA Low Carb Pale Ale – Pale by name but not, by comparison, this bright, happy ale crafted to be full-bodied, full-flavoured and low carbs.
Hawaiian Haze IPA – This beer is a double dry-hopped flavour explosion. Juicy tropical licks of pineapple, mango, passionfruit and mandarin burst atop a soft, pillowy mouthfeel.
Hawaiin Haze Pale Ale – A hop-driven flavour explosion brewed to quench your thirst. This Pale ticks all the boxes; it has loads of flavour while also being super fresh and drinkable.
Mexican Hot Choc Stout – Inspired by vibes of Mexico. This Milk Stout is dark and chocolatey, with a subtle tickle by the chill at the back of the mouth.

Balter Brewing Co

More than just a name, BALTER is the sense of enjoyment you get from doing something you love, just for the thrill of it. Good beer shares a lot of qualities with a good host – they are both approachable, thoughtful, and value character over currency. Above all, both help brings a wide range of people together to get them smiling.

Balter wants everybody to experience the delight of bonding over a tasty brew, whether that’s hop-driven wonders or malt-driven deliciousness. This means using the best ingredients, taking advantage of the best technology, and using techniques geared towards taste rather than brewing speed.

Balter XPA – It might be pale, but there’s nothing weak about this bad boy. This XPA’s tropical and floral aromatics set off a fruity palette that will punch your taste buds in the pleasure zone.
Balter Cryohaze – Hazy India Pale Ale that’s like getting flushed in the face with a fruity fluro firehose, bringing swishes of guava and dashes of bubblegum to the palate, which are highlighted by a creamy combo of passionfruit and berries, and a dank resin primer.
Balter Captain Sensible – This ale balances refined malt undertones against positive hop notes to round out a full taste and mouthfeel that defies its mid-strength nature.
Balter IPA – Its clean hoppy base offers a relentless yet refined bitterness complemented by pine and citrus aromatics.
Balter Lager – Greets you with a casual citrus wave, subtle spicy grin and gentle malt hug.

One Love Pale Ale – One Love is a soft bodied pale ale bursting with bright hop aromas and stone fruit, passionfruit and citrus flavours. The beer is golden straw in colour with a delicate haze from malted and flaked wheat in the brew.
Sidewinder Super Low Alc Hazy Pale – A fresh golden haze, full body and smooth mouthfeel from the combination of Munich, Crystal and Carapils malts and rolled oats. Super tasty juicy tropical notes of peach, apricot, mango and lychee bursting through from the audacious use of Citra, Mosiac and Centennial hops.
Red Hoppy Ale – Layered caramel malts. Citrus and pine hop flavours. Has a rich, red amber body driven through caramel malts layered in the brew, not dark, not light.
Someday Sour Blood Orange – Someday shines with bright and zingy acidity, balanced with soft and pillowy pale and wheat malts. The Blood Orange bursts onto the centre stage, delivering layers of flavour and refreshment.

James Squire

The story of how James Squire became Australia’s first brewer is a cracking yarn and one always keen (and proud) to share. It was a journey full of thievery, dishonesty and above all, flavour. Indeed, James Squire had an appetite to taste it all. He led a life that would make any man envious.

James Squire Zero – An expertly crafted full flavour alcohol-free brew with a balance of malt and hop notes for a clean, crisp finish.
