Get ready to eat, drink and explore your way through Spain without leaving the country. Organised by ICEX Spain Trade and Investment through its Foods & Wines from Spain brand, in collaboration with the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Eat Spain Drink Spain Australia 2026 launches for the first time in Australia on 4 September, bringing a month of Spanish flavour to restaurants, bars, bottle shops and gourmet retailers across Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and the Gold Coast.
From smoky jamón and silky olive oil to bold red wines and crisp cavas, the campaign is a love letter to Spain’s food and wine culture – and an open invitation for Australians to taste their way through it. Running from 4 September to 4 October, participating venues will roll out Spanish-inspired menus, tastings, food and wine pairings, live cooking demonstrations and special promotions.
With 47 venues and 62 activations to explore, there’s a taste of Spain waiting in every city – here are just a few highlights. In Sydney, Wine inTuition hosts two masterclasses led by Master of Wine Andrea Pritzker and ICEX Spanish Wine Ambassador Markus Patz, taking guests beyond Rioja and Tempranillo into Spain’s more surprising regions and grape varieties. In Melbourne, MoVida Next Door offers a $30 Menú de Tapas y Vermut, pairing a choice of Bodegas Yzaguirre Vermouth with classic Spanish bar snacks like San Sebastián style pintxos and chargrilled txistorra. Over in Perth, Meninas Grill presents a generous Spanish sharing menu built around a Paella Asturiana loaded with hickory-smoked rump cap and saffron Calasparra rice. And on the Gold Coast, El Portón offers 50% off all paellas, plus regional Wine Nights spotlighting a different corner of Spain each evening.
Whether it’s a tapas night at your local, a bottle of Rioja from your favourite wine shop, or a jar of authentic Spanish olives from a gourmet grocer, there’s a taste of Spain waiting to be discovered nearby.
Diners and shoppers can pick up a physical Eat Spain Drink Spain passport at participating venues. Every eligible purchase earns a stamp – or a sticker for online purchases – and once your passport is complete, you’re in the running to win a return flight to Spain, the ultimate reward for a month spent falling in love with Spanish flavour.
Spain’s food and wine scene has never felt closer to home. Australian appetites for Mediterranean flavours, premium ingredients and products with real provenance keep growing – and with Spain among the world’s most celebrated culinary destinations, this is a rare chance to experience it locally, one plate (and one glass) at a time.
Eat Spain Drink Spain has previously travelled to the UK, US, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Hong Kong, Singapore and Qatar. Australia now joins the list for its first-ever edition.
