The National Basketball Association (NBA) announced that two-time NBA All-Star Jaren Jackson Jr. of the Utah Jazz and four-time NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins will headline the first NBA House Australia, an immersive basketball experience and fan event at The Timber Yard in Melbourne from Thursday 14 May – Sunday 17 May in celebration of the 2026 Playoffs.
Operated by Seeker Agency, NBA House Australia will feature more than 6,000 square meters of interactive basketball and pop culture experiences for fans of all ages, including on court basketball activities; live performances by international and Australian musical artists and DJs; meet-and-greets with Cousins and Jackson Jr.; a 3-on-3 celebrity game; streetwear showcases; photo opportunities with the Larry O’Brien Trophy; and performances by Sacramento Kings mascot Slamson, the Kings Dancers and the Kings dunk team.
“I’m excited to be part of the first NBA House in Australia,” said Jackson Jr. “I know Australian fans are some of the most passionate in the world, and I look forward to celebrating the excitement of the NBA Playoffs with them.”
A 6’10” forward/center who was selected fourth overall in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies, Jackson Jr. was also the 2022-23 Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year and has earned multiple Kia All-Defensive Team honors prior to be trading to the Jazz this season.
“Basketball has taken me all over the world, and I’m thankful it’s now given me the opportunity to visit Melbourne for NBA House,” said Cousins. “I can’t wait to meet Australian fans and experience the NBA Playoffs together.”
A 6’10” center who was selected fifth overall in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Kings, Cousins was also a two-time Kia All-NBA Second Team member and named to the Kia NBA All-Rookie First Team in his rookie season.
