Bombay Bloomers

Neutral Bay has a new reason to dine out, with Randwick favourite Bombay Bloomers opening its second home on Grosvenor Street.

Since taking over the Randwick kitchen in 2022, Chef and Owner Varinder Singh has earned a loyal following for food that celebrates the true flavours of India without the heavy-handed spicing. His style is characterised by balance, freshness, and heart, shaped by the lessons he first learned cooking alongside his grandmother.

“Neutral Bay felt like the natural next step for Bombay Bloomers,” Singh says. “It has such a vibrant dining scene, and we wanted to bring our style of Indian food here, dishes that are full of flavour, never overpowering, and always cooked with care.”

The new menu builds on that ethos, with every curry made individually rather than from a shared base. Standouts include Singh’s nut-free Butter Chicken, a family recipe that’s creamy, comforting, and allergy-friendly; a slow-cooked Lamb Rogan Josh layered with Kashmiri spices; and the Bombay Bloomers Thali, a generous feast for one featuring both vegetarian and non-vegetarian curries, rice, raita, and garlic naan. For dessert, there’s the indulgent Gulab Jamun, soft milk dumplings fried and soaked in rosewater syrup.

The drinks list adds its own sense of theatre, weaving Indian flavours into playful cocktails designed to complement the food and spark conversation.

The fit-out mixes tradition with modern Sydney polish. Dishes are served in bronze and brass tableware, a nod to Singh’s upbringing, while deep greens, gold accents and touches of pink bring warmth and vibrancy to the space.
