If you’re a food enthusiast looking for an extraordinary dining experience that transports you to the heart of France, look no further than Bouillon l’Entrecôte. Nestled in a cozy corner of the city, this restaurant boasts an ambience that effortlessly combines classic elegance with a touch of contemporary charm. I recently had the pleasure of indulging in their Saturday Lunch Fixe Menu, and let me tell you, it was a culinary journey like no other.
Stepping into Bouillon l’Entrecôte is akin to entering a Parisian brasserie. The warm hues, subtle lighting, and comfortable seating exude a sense of intimacy, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely lunch. The tasteful décor, adorned with vintage French posters and rustic accents, creates an inviting atmosphere that immediately transports you to the cobbled streets of Paris.
As the meal commenced, I was greeted with a delightful welcome drink – the Kir Royale. The effervescence of the champagne combined with the sweetness of crème de cassis set the tone for what promised to be an unforgettable afternoon.
The first course featured a French classic – snails with parsley butter. The six snails were perfectly cooked and bathed in a luscious parsley-infused butter. The dish was beautifully paired with a glass of Domaine du Nozay Sancerre 2020, a crisp and refreshing white wine with pronounced citrus and mineral notes that elevated the flavours of the snails.

On the palate, it showcases a refreshing acidity that balances the richness of the snails, while the pronounced mineral notes enhance the overall experience.
The main course was a true masterpiece – tender Flank Steak served with a generous portion of golden pomme frites. The steak, cooked to perfection, was succulent and bursting with flavour. Accompanying the dish was the Paris mash, enriched with aromatic truffle oil, providing a delightful twist to the traditional mashed potatoes. To complement this course, Max (Garçon) offered a glass of Château Haut-Ségur Cuvée Milon Lussac-Saint-Émilion 2014, a Bordeaux red wine that impressed with its bold, velvety texture and hints of blackberries and spice. Additionally, a glass of M. Chapoutier La Bernadine Chateauneuf Du Pape 2020 was served, an elegant red wine with complex layers of fruit and subtle earthy undertones.

The grand finale came in the form of a classic French dessert – Creme Brulee. The perfectly caramelized sugar crust gave way to a rich and creamy custard beneath, leaving a delightful contrast of textures with every spoonful. To complement this sweet indulgence, a glass of M. Chapoutier La Combe Pilate Viognier 2017 was poured. This sweet white wine presented a bouquet of floral and apricot notes, ending the meal on a high note.
