Almost a year after Sydney’s favourite small bars joined forces, YCK Laneways is back with a six-week festival running from  April 11 – May 22. Fittingly titled YCK Intersections, the festival will see a collision of food and cocktails, community and creativity.

On the menu this time, YCK has partnered with a trio of celebrity chefs, including the fun-loving Manu Feildel, pastry chef Anna Polyviou and clean-eating foodie Luke Hines, who will each design a unique series of dishes on offer at participating YCK venues. Titled Chef’s Selection, hungry punters can expect Luke’s famous loaded sweet fries with lime guac and cashew sour cream, a serving of Manu’s Hervey Bay scallops with XO butter and a fun spin on Anna’s iconic cookie dough dessert.

In the spirit of collaboration, YCK will take over Barrack Street once again for a new instalment, Master the Art. April 22 – 24, a series of masterclasses will enliven this iconic address – from learning how to craft the perfect cocktail with world-class bartenders from Maybe Sammy and Cantina OK! to oyster shucking with Sydney Oyster Farm Tours and authentic pasta-making classes with Mannaggia a Trois.

After a day spent with some of Sydney’s cocktail extraordinaire and culinary masters, stick around for three epic nights of live music with Barrack Street headliners, including dance sensation Sneaky Sound System and singer-songwriter. Wafia and upcoming Brisbane rapper Day1 – taking you seamlessly from day to night!

Plus, if that wasn’t enough to get you to fire up the group chat in anticipation, your favourite YCK bars are putting on a dynamic line-up, with over 100 events over six weeks. Wander through the precinct and enjoy live music, epic dance parties, magicians, caricatures, jazz performances, tarot readings, etc.

At the festival, Vice President of YCK Laneways and President of the Independent Bars Association Karl Schlothauer said, “As a collective, we strive to create unique experiences that showcase what each of our incredible venues has to offer but also inspires Sydneysiders to rediscover our wonderful city.”

He continued, “the power of collaboration has been evident in YCK’s success since launch, so we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to work with some of Australia’s best chefs and an impressive pool of DJs, musicians and entertainers to entice people back out and let the good times roll.”

Representing the buzzing precinct between Town Hall and Wynyard, YCK Laneways is a consortium of independently operated retail, hospitality, corporate and entertainment businesses around York, Clarence and Kent Streets. A place where sights, sounds, tastes and tastemakers converge to deliver unexpected cultural experiences.

YCK Intersections is proudly funded by the NSW Government as part of the CBD Revitalisation Program and supported by Time Out and Bacardi-Martini, with featured brands including Patrón Tequila, Grey Goose Vodka, Bombay Sapphire and Bacardi Rum. With a range of free and ticketed events, bookings are strongly recommended to secure your spot.
