Wyndham Resort Denarau Island Celebrates 15 years

This year, the award-winning Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific Denarau Island has reached a significant milestone, celebrating its 15th anniversary of offering guests the finest service and top-tier luxury.

The 5.5-hectare beachfront resort, located on a 200m stretch of beach on the beautifully-manicured holiday paradise of Denarau Island, a 20-minute taxi ride from Nadi International Airport.

It has since grown to become one of Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific’s most popular destinations, with more than 38,000 people chose the resort for their holidays in 2014.

“We have spent the past 15 years making holiday dreams come true and it is exciting to be able to celebrate not one but two milestones, with WorldMark South Pacific Club also welcoming its 50,000th Owner this year,” said Mr Berry Robinson, President and Managing Director of Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific.

Fijian hospitality is known for their exceptional service with a smile and the locals’ infectious greeting – “Bula!”. All which have made it a favourite among owners and guests for many years, a testament to the resort’s popularity.

I was advised that in 2013, Wyndham Resort Denarau Island underwent a FJD$50 million (AUD$30 million) redevelopment, with the addition of 63 spacious and luxurious styles of accommodations ranging from one and two-bedroom deluxe apartments to presidential villas with private plunge pools overlooking the ocean.

Further enhancements included an expansive pool area with a poolside bar and café, Maravu Adults’ Retreat Pool and Bar; the expansion and redevelopment of the resort reception and lobby and kids’ club; plus the relocation and construction of the new Mamacita Mexican Restaurant. A newly constructed restaurant, cafe and bar on a white sandy private beach.

I’m not sure about you, but I can close my eyes and picture myself being at the resort. Settling into my spacious accommodation with its contemporary open-plan design, partaking in traditional kava ceremonies and listening to some of that Fijian village lifestyle – i’m talking about the food, the music and chillin’.

The resort was won a number of awards during it’s 15 years. Qualified in 2015; Interval International Premier Resort®, for it’s international’s high affiliation standards and delivering outstanding vacation ownership experiences. Honoured with both the World’s Best Timeshare Resort and International Project of Excellence at the 2014 International Perspective Awards and a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence 2014.

With over 240 staff, amazingly enough several dedicated staff have been with the company from the start and are also celebrating 15 years of service.

“It is the support and dedication of staff that make this resort such a success and we could not have reached this important milestone without their hard work and commitment to consistently providing excellent service,” Mr Robinson said.

WIth the resorts continued local community support, providing medical supplies to traditional landowners in Narewa Village, assists in local schools with building materials and uniforms as well as donating food vouchers to women and children’s shelter Loloma Homes.
