Uncovering APPELLES Apothecary

APPELLES is a brand that I haven’t heard about during my travels and staying at several hotels around the world. You would normally find brands Le Occitane, Roger & Gallet or the house brand as your guest amenity.

But what’s different about APPELLES Apothecary & Lab? To my delight I received the Black Label Collection, a box filled with a delightful fragrance that filled the room, immediately setting the mood for relaxation. Before I show you the products, here are some facts about the company.

Established in 2011 and rapidly expanding as the preferred toiletry product in over 400 five star luxury and boutique hotels globally. APPELLES products are Australian made and uses certified organic oils from renewable sources. Not only are the ingredients organic; the packaging is environmentally friendly and recyclable; all products are paraben free and non tested on animals. I try to do the right thing when it comes to understanding where products come from and how they are made, and it makes me feel good in using products that are safe for the environment and me.

The products are reflective of the Australian lifestyle and their approach to skin and hair care. But what does that mean to the consumer? Well, I believe it’s the way we live – for the love of being outdoors, the ocean surf and the type of climate we have around. The natural ingredients enriched with vitamins, extracts and oil blends – all helps to keep our body & hair healthy.

What’s in the Black label pack?

  • Blackseed Shampoo
  • Talmanu Conditioner
  • Willow Bark Hand & Body Wash
  • Sea Buckthorn Skin Lotion
  • Black Pepper Body Bar
  • Exfoliating Back Loofah
  • Bamboo Charcoal Konjac Sponge
  • Vitamin B3 Bath Caviar
  • Vitamin B3 Body Buff
  • Green Seaweed Bath Fizz
  • Himalayan Bath Salts

I use the shampoo and conditioner on a daily basis and my hair feels re-hydrated and fresh – the rosemary cleanses, lavender to sooth the scalp and the tamanu nut oil (in the conditioner) to protect my hair from the daily UV exposure.

It could be just me, but finding the right moisturiser is hard, it either too greasy, powerful fragrance or too watery, but not the Sea Buckthourn Skin lotion. I found it lightweight and easy to absorb into my skin. The subtle scent of the cedarwood was uplifting and that hydration feel provided relief to my tired dry skin, after a day in the air-conditioned office.

Speaking of a hard day or even week in the office. The Himalayan Bath Salts with the pinkish hues of ginger lily is the perfect way to relax. Draw your bath and let the salts cleanse, detoxify your body and relieve those tired muscles. Candles and music are additional.

You don’t need to be travelling to exotic hotels to experiences the range, all products are reasonable priced online and offers worldwide shipping – perfect to keep your body healthy and to keep in mind as a gift to someone you know.
