With summer just around the corner now it’s time to kick some ass and finally get the beach body you’ve always wanted, and what better place to sweat it out than in the picturesque surrounding of Bali.
Result Based Training (RBT), one of Australia’s leading body transformation gyms, has announced that they will reopen their luxury fitness retreats in Bali in October and November. During your 7-day fitness stay-cation, you will have the chance to work out in island bliss with some of the best coaches in the fitness industry.
I had the chance to speak with Travis Jones the founder of Results Based Training to find out what people can get out of the retreat and how they can continue their progress when they get home.
What kind of workouts can we expect on the holiday?
The retreat incorporates a range of different workouts, with an option for everybody! We offer strength-based sessions and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts, as well as two gymnastics / calisthenics and three yoga sessions.
Can you tell us a little bit about the strategy of the timetable? And do you have to partake in all the activities?
Rising with the sun at 6am, embark on your day with an hour of yoga, followed by a delicious breakfast catering to your every need. Tummies full it’s time to embrace the burn with your morning strength session, before you’re treated to two hours of relaxation and unwinding, as well as a well-deserved lunch.
Post lunch we are running a 60-minute seminar on nutrition, mindset, mediation and hormones for fat loss. Your afternoon session is up to you, are you feeling an intense HIIT session, or how about a Calisthenics class?
The best part of the day is upon you, reward yourself with a relaxing 1 hour massage, before digging in to a scrumptious dinner.
Is there much time to explore the island?
There is definitely a chance to explore some of the island! With such incredible surroundings it would be a shame not to explore the island. One of my favourite mornings is when we climb Mt Batur, to watch the sunrise on top of volcano and observe the world waking up. We also go surfing where people can learn new skills and feel a sense of accomplishment.
As this is a fitness retreat is there a weigh in and measurements at the start and end of the holiday?
We conduct a weigh in and body fat measurement on day 1 and day 7. This is so we can compare the results and see the changes of the week based in calories consumed and the training they have partaken in. This allows us to create guidelines on what they should be consuming when they go home.
Can you tell us about how you have seen people progressing over the week?
Everyone is going to have different results, but I have seen some people lose 3-4% of body fat in a week, that is 4-5kg! However it is important to note that this is not a rapid fat loss retreat, most people will lose 2% body fat, and gain the tools on how to keep that up and transform their life as they return to their daily routines.
