Last week I was invited to the official opening of The Tank Stream Hotel in Sydney, and who better to join the festivities than Silke from Happiness and Things. The hotel is the latest in the Group’s growing chain of international hotels under the St Giles brand, and is set to provide business and leisure travellers with unparalleled access to Sydney’s CBD, shopping, restaurants, and iconic tourist attractions.

The Tank Stream Hotel offers guests a unique in-room experience. With it’s rich history dated back to the 1960s, the hotel is situated on the site of Sydney’s first settlement and above the Tank Stream, a fresh water tributary which supplied water to the growing colony of New South Wales in the late 18th century.

Guests at the opening listened on by speeches from Tan Boon Lee, Managing Director of Tank Stream Holdings Pty Ltd, special guest Carol Giuseppi, CEO of Tourism Accommodation Australia commemorated the opening and signing of the plaque.

Throughout the afternoon we were treated to a broad selection of canapés prepared by Jun Wong, Head Chef of Le Petit Flot. Le Petit Flot is a contemporary French restaurant on the second floor and scheduled to open at the end of November.

“We are excited to be opening The Tank Stream Hotel here in Sydney and believe that with our central location, personal approach, and unique all-in room experience, our guests will not only enjoy the convenience and comforts of a hotel, but find a home away from home that they can come back to time and time again whether they are here on holiday or business.”

Highlights of the afternoon was to be able to have a tour of the hotel and check two of their 280 rooms available high quality fittings and natural detailing; hypoallergenic pillows and quilts; as well as natural latex mattresses with latex toppers to ensure a restful sleep. Additionally, guests can enjoy a wide selection of complimentary in-room movies viewed on a 42 inch high definition IPTV, as well as a coffee machine, premium black and herbal teas, and toiletries infused with Australian essential oils. Complimentary high speed Wi-Fi allowing guests to connect multiple devices at once is also available throughout its premises.

The Tank Stream Hotel offers all guests an all-inclusive – one rate concept which is quality focused, providing a wide range of amenities including the latest in-room technology and entertainment, and a complimentary non-alcoholic mini bar stocked with still and sparkling water as well as juices. In addition to the contemporary casual French dining restaurant it has on its premises, the hotel also has a deli where guests can enjoy sandwiches, coffees and light snacks

With easy access to public transport, the hotel is a short 20 minutes from Sydney airport, and other key destinations are within easy reach. Iconic landmarks such as Darling Harbour, Sydney Opera House, Martin Place, Queen Victoria Building, and Sydney Harbour Bridge, are also just a short distance away.

When you are looking for your next staycation in Sydney’s CBD, visit The Tank Stream.
