Sydney Spring Carnival is set to offer an unmissable season of racing. As the world watches on, Australia’s Harbour City comes to life, a vibrant spectacle of glamour and sheer elation as racing takes centre stage.

The Australian Turf Club is putting on a show this spring carnival with a host of spectacular new facilities set to bring new life and vision to its historically revered venues. A sea of flowers, silks, millinery and magnums will have the grandstands heaving as Sydney’s social scene comes to life.

Officially launched the 2016 Sydney Spring Carnival at Royal Randwick which will see an impressive nine weeks of non-stop action running from 10 September to 1 November.

With almost $12 million in prize money and a total of 23 Group races, the 2016 Sydney Spring Carnival promises to attract a mix of Sydney’s A-list and racing enthusiasts alike.

Australia’s leading names in racing, fashion and sport came together today at Royal Randwick as the Australian Turf Club unveiled its ambassadors which included some of the country’s racing elite; trainers Chris Waller and Gai Waterhouse, and jockeys Hugh Bowman and Tommy Berry.

The star stable were accompanied by the newest line up of Carnival ambassadors, TV presenter Mel McLaughlin, Australian models Megan Blake Irwin and Georgia Fowler, Miss Chinese Cosmos Pageant winner Jessica Song and Sydney’s famed Bearded Bakers, Ameer and Joey El-Issa. Announced on the day but not present, was model Natalie Roser, who will be attending Moët & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day.

For the foodies, Royal Randwick will host the latest on track culinary and lifestyle destination, The Mews. The Mews will be located on the Octagonal Lawn and promises to deliver Australia’s best gastronomic and entertainment experience to a day at the races.
