This October, STUDIO by Miraval has once again partnered with Brightside Studios in Surry Hills, launching a free-to-book rotating workshop programme for Sydney-based music artists.
Following the success of the 2024 partnership, which provided emerging artists with two weeks of funded studio time, this year Miraval is expanding its commitment by developing a music workshop programme, which will cover all the essentials needed for those looking to enter the music industry.
Across October, six free workshops will run, focusing on Recording Vocals, Music Production, Spoken Word, Song Writing, Finishing Tracks, as well as a dedicated Q&A session on Getting into the Industry. To ensure artists get the most out of each session, participants are invited to register their interest via a short form – click here, which helps match them to the right workshops for their skills and interests. Successful applicants will then receive an Eventbrite link to confirm their spot. All workshops remain free-to-book, intimate in size, and hosted in a fully equipped studio space with complimentary bottles of STUDIO by Miraval on hand.
The artists engaged to host the workshops include KLP, singer, songwriter, DJ and producer known for her infectious energy and genre-blending electronic-pop sound; Ben Miller, DJ and producer making waves in Australia’s blossoming house scene with his percussive grooves and catchy synths; Nyaluak Leth, a poet and performance artist exploring identity and belonging through language, movement and sound; Lucy Lucy, a singer-songwriter known for touring as Peking Duk’s live vocalist and blending soulful vocals with raw, emotive storytelling; and Stu Turner, producer and DJ best known as one half of Sydney electronic duo Set Mo.
“I am honoured to work with Miraval again this year! It is great to see a brand with such an impact repeatedly supporting Australia’s emerging artists! Cannot wait to book in myself for KLP’s session, she is an absolute machine and has such a wealth of knowledge to learn from”, said DJ and vocalist Lucy Lucy.
The ongoing support for upcoming artists in Australia is a result of the iconic Miraval Studios. Nestled in the heart of the Château Miraval Estate in Provence, the studio was founded in 1970 by well-known jazz pianist and composer Jacques Loussier, giving birth to the iconic recording studio. Since then, the studio has hosted a wealth of music icons such as Pink Floyd, AC/DC and Jimmy Barnes and today, Miraval extends that heritage by supporting a new generation of artists in Australia.
“Music is an integral part of Miraval’s brand history, so it is important for us to be able to support upcoming music artists here in Australia. We look forward to supporting more emerging artists, who are looking to get their start in the music industry!”, says Emilie Blanc, Country Manager of Miraval for Australia.
Surrounded by olive trees and pine trees within the Château Miraval Estate, Studio by Miraval shines a spotlight on the Côte d’Azur grape varietals, which combine grapes from the best plots on the French Riviera. With a medium body, crisp citrus notes, and refreshing acidity, its coastal terroir brings balance and elegance, now pairing perfectly with Sydney’s vibrant music scene.
