The Star Epsom Day

The Star Epsom Day

Everyone in the office and friends do enjoy a day out at the races. Any chance to celebrate an occasion with mates, the ladies to pamper themselves with their Sunday best – wear a lovely headpiece and the lads suited up. Spring Carnival was well and truly in the air and people were happy to be outdoors.

It was a sunny 30 degree day at Royal Randwick on Saturday for The Star Epsom Day, and Shannon Cremer (Urban Chic Guides) and I were invited to enjoy the festivities – naturally bubbles were on hand.

To be honest, I’m pretty envious of the women with style at the races. Not for their pastel, floral or bright colours dresses, accessories or wacky and wonderful headgear. The fact, women are able to breath. Lads, don’t get me wrong, when we put on a suit, we become Vincent Chase from Entourage or some other slick celeb. I not a slim male nor have a wardrobe filled with clothes. But! It’s soo hot to wear a suit.

#hydrate #indoors #bubbles were the three key focus for Shannon and I.

We ventured out to the members track to catch a glimpse of people watching to see what they were wearing. Full photos and credit to Royal Randwick can be seen on their Facebook page. We spotted a sign Champagne Bar, and we were off.

Royal Randwick’s Champagne Bar exudes fine tradition and elegance with direct views to the winning post. Located on level 1 of the heritage-listed Officials Stand, its intimate and refined surrounds are a rich tapestry of glamour and well-suited style. This is the perfect place to mingle while keeping an eye on the track. A food and beverage package was available and thought we might take up this option. It as indoors, we had seating and it had AC.

Highlights from the lunch:
Plate Entree Assiette including Smoked Ocean Trou, Breast of Quail and Lamb Fillet.
Main course silver service Chicken Saltimbocca, Riverina grass fed beef fillet.
Assortment of green and roasted vegetable salad.
3pm we were served an afternoon tea assortment
Chandon Brut Rose

What was really nice, was the fact we were able to leave the restaurant to explore around and then come back for mains and afternoon tea; and rehydrate with more bubbles.

We met up with the ever so #fabuluxe Helen Chik (@helenchikx) and her friend Jen Liu (@jen623) at The Stables, located on Level 4 of the Queen Elizabeth II, offers ATC Members race day access to a world-class facility offering the very best in design, food and ambience.

Later that afternoon I was seen on the lawn with the ladies of leisure, Bobbie (@bobbieosullivan) from SydneySocial101, and friends Lucy (@chiggy1990) and Heather (@heathershillitoe). So great to catch up with these ladies.

I’m sure everyone is looking forward to the next event, Moët & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day at Royal Randwick. The Chandon Pop-Up Bar, live DJ’s and visiting the Clinique Pamper Lounge will be a great day.
