Views of the international runway at Sydney Airport, multiple restaurants to dine at and a roof top bar, Rydges Sydney Airport is the ultimate hotel before your departure.
On my visit to the Rydges, I was welcomed with a friendly team who showed me to my Superior Queen Room. The blinds were flung open and I had a wanderlust view of Emirates, Qantas and Fiji Airlines departing the gates and taking off into the sky. The room was equipped with a TV, queen bed, fully functioning bathroom as well as a mini bar and snack selection.
Falling asleep and waking up to the sight of the planes taking people away, was enough for me to return. The best part of having a view of the runway, was that the room was completely sound proof, not one sound of the jets found their way into my sleep.
How many times can you say that you went to a rooftop bar with runway views? Cloud 9 is located on the top floor, and is a rooftop bar with views of the international runway. Except sitting in my bed, this time I was able to sip on a cosmopolitan – which was made to perfection. The bar had an outside and inside seating area, where I found myself sitting face up against the window in complete awe over the travelers having their international flights.
On top of the roof top bar, I was able to enjoy my dinner at the Blackwattle Grill. A fully-fledged steak and oven menu, with steaks, pizzas, chicken and of course garlic bread. The restaurant is reasonably priced with an average of $40 for a steak and other mains averaging at $21. As I enjoyed the pizza and my friend enjoyed his steak, he did not pass out on the opportunity to pick a red wine, which he described to be extremely satisfying.
For all you travelers and early flight lovers, the Rydges Sydney Airport is a hotel which will cater to all your travel needs as well as free transfers to the domestic terminal.
