In celebration of the highly anticipated launch of Moulin Rouge! The Musical, the Collins Street Precinct is welcoming the show with a series of exciting activations happening across the precinct this summer. Making its way from the street to shopfronts, visitors are invited to embrace the rouge theme and make the most out of their trip to the CBD.
Be dazzled by an eye-catching 150 metre red carpet installation running from Russell Street to the Regent Theatre – a first for the Collins Street Precinct and the perfect touch to ensure fans of the show arrive in ceremonial style. Lining the street, you will notice the show’s ideals of ‘Truth, Beauty, Freedom, and Love’ have been boldly displayed across the street’s decorative planter boxes.
Local businesses have welcomed the rouge theme with open arms, with exclusive offers taking place across the precinct to celebrate the show and the exciting return of the theatre in Melbourne. Visitors can enjoy bespoke cocktails like the La Vie En Rouge at Farmer’s Daughters, The Boujee Moulin Rouge at Trinket Bar, Satine at Eau-de-Vie and Lady Lust at Nick & Nora’s. A free Blood Orange Royale cocktail for lunch and dinner bookings is on offer at Pastuso, or you can admire the showstopping Moulin Rouge! themed window at Quists Coffee as you take home a limited edition reusable keep cup. For pre-theatre dining, Uncle Collins Street is pulling out all of the stops with an express 4-course banquet and ‘Paris End’ cocktail.
Make it a weekend by stopping by The Westin Melbourne who is celebrating Moulin Rouge! The Musical with specialty cocktails, a delectable Sparkling Diamond high tea experience and a luxurious overnight stay all inspired by the musical.
Of the partnership, Collins Street Precinct President Luke Harris said, “After a long-awaited wait, we couldn’t be more excited to see Moulin Rouge! The Musical open its doors on Melbourne’s most iconic street”.
“We are thrilled to see our Collins Street Precinct members embrace the return of theatre and reignite Melbourne’s love affair with the unrivalled luxury retail, premium accommodation and world class dining, all of which is on our very doorstep. Whether you’re enjoying a pre-show dinner or cocktail, the Collins Street Precinct is the perfect destination to celebrate the arrival of Moulin Rouge!”.
