Tucked away in the bustling and vibrant dining precinct of Crows Nest, Monte Alto Eatery & Bar is earning a serious rep for its creative Australian fusion dishes that are a step ahead of its humble neighbourhood surrounds.
A café by day and restaurant by night, Monte Alto Eatery & Bar is fast becoming one of the go-to places in Sydney’s lower north shore for delicious, indulgent food and drinks. Owner and Head Chef, Harry Nguyen, has designed a unique and honest menu to showcase his unrivalled passion for food and hospitality; using the best quality ingredients from reputable local sources to satisfy all taste buds.
“We take great pride in exceeding our customers’ expectations. We use fresh, top quality produce to create culinary dishes that are full of new flavours and with a good balance of colour and texture to excite all taste buds,” says Harry.
Monte Alto Eatery & Bar’s extensive and mouth-watering menu boasts flavours from around the world. The sophisticated food offerings have Vietnamese and Italian influencers, inspired by Harry’s Vietnamese heritage and his past experiences, having worked at dining empire Fratelli Fresh before deciding to carve his own niche on the Sydney dining scene.
“The menu tells my story; from my Vietnamese heritage and culture, to the restaurants I have gained invaluable experience working in. I always keep those precious times very close to my heart and hope that my dishes can bring a unique dining experience for all guests.” Harry explains.
Standout dishes on the refined dinner menu focus on heartier culinary options such as the halloumi fries, wagyu spaghetti meatballs and smoky pork ribs slowly cooked and basted in a homemade spicy BBQ sauce, served with roasted vegetables for the ideal winter dish.
You’ll also find impressive options that will tantalise the taste buds, including sea grapes and smoked salmon, stuffed chicken Marsala with a delicious sweet potato puree and signature coffee rubbed pork roast, that will definitely keep you coming back. Drinks are certainly not forgotten about, as the venue has one of largest whisky and wine collections available on Sydney’s lower north shore.
On the breakfast menu, you can expect to find twists on café staples, with firm favourites such as smashed avocado and salsa, a beautifully plated medley of ricotta, mint, tomato salsa, feta cheese and aged balsamic on toasted sourdough as well as delectable brunch cocktails like Mimosa or Aperol Spitz!
For a lunchtime treat, the scrumptious soft shell crab burger, crafted with tempura soft shell crab, Asian slaw, tomatoes, carrot pickle and Thai tamarind sauce served on a toasted milk bun and with a generous serve of tasty fries will surprise even the most experienced burger aficionados.
This eclectic eatery was once known as Monte Alto Roasters, serving up a round-the-world coffee menu. The fresh new look and feel of Monte Alto Eatery & Bar is the ideal setting for every occasion; whether for impressing clients over a business lunch, catching up with friends over delicious food and drinks or a romantic date night with your significant other.
