Craving the taste of a cocktail without the alcohol? While non-alcoholic cocktails lack spirits, with the right ingredients, they can be just as delicious and sophisticated as the original. Always in trend, mocktails have opened a world of flavour to those who favour a non-alcoholic bevoir. Here is a couple of non-alcoholic cocktail (mocktail) recipes for you to create at home.
Hot Apple Cider
4 cups (960 ml) water
2 (360 g) medium apples, halved, seeded
1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 (30 g) medjool dates, pitted
add additional seasoning if desired like spices
Method
• Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
• Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed. Blend for 7 minutes 30 seconds or until heavy steam escapes from vented lid.
• Use seasonal apples with bold flavors such as honeycrisp, gali, or fuji.
Warm Apple Ginger Smoothie
1 cup (240ml) apple juice
2 Tablespoon (320g) apples, halved, seeded
1 slice lemon, ⅛” thick
1 Tablespoon (3g) fresh ginger root, ⅛” slice
¼ teaspoon pumpkin spice
Method
• Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure the lid.
• Start the blender at its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed.
• Blend for 2 minutes, using the tamper to press ingredients toward the blades.
Acai Pomegranate Blueberry Agua Fresca
2 cups (480ml) acai pomegranate coconut water
3 cups (450g) fresh blueberries
1 small lime, peeled
2 cups (260g) ice cubes
Method
• With a peeler or paring knife, remove the peel and white pith from the lime, leaving just the flesh. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.
• Start the blender on its lowest speed, then quickly increase to its highest speed.
• Blend for 30 seconds or until desired consistency is reached.
Kombucha Colada
100ml Lo Bros Kombucha Pineapple and lime
40ml grilled pineapple juice
20ml Coconut syrup
15ml Agave
10ml Lime
Method
• Shake and strain over ice into Long/pineapple glass/ candied pineapple and lime.
