On the last leg of Merivale’s summer music program, See Sound, there are a couple of free live music events presented by Furphy. With some of Sydney’s best local bands and DJs at Coogee Pavilion Rooftop and Vic on the Park
Cosmic Psychos and special guests – Saturday 16 March, 8pm
The Cosmic Psychos are playing a very special one off free entry show at the Vic on the Park this Saturday, with special guests to be announced on the night.
The Cane Toad, The Common Australian Cockroach, Pampas Grass, the Euro Rabbit and the Cosmic Psychos – Irrepressible, notorious and iconic. Cosmic Psychos are the Dromedary Camel of Australian rock and roll. Reliable like drought and heavy like a bushfire. A simple marriage of bonehead riffs and primal urge.
The gig will be played in the front bar, so guests will need to get there early to secure a spot. Doors at 8pm, DJs playing before and after the show, free entry, no lock outs.
Bag Raiders (DJ Set) – Sunday 17 March, from 12pm
With a new album on the way, triple-platinum hits and international tours under their belt (and a viral meme soundtrack to boot), this is a rare chance to catch Bag Raiders live and up-close.
Bag Raiders propelled themselves into the spotlight almost a decade ago with their fun-loving take on music and have remained a crowd-favourite ever since. From club stardom to world tours and festival slots, the pair have built a reputation for mammoth dance releases that keep the world moving with them. After years at work on their highly anticipated second album, Bag Raiders (Jack Glass and Chris Stracey) have shared the lead single “Lightning”, as premiered by triple j Good Nights and out now on Island Records Australia. With “Lightning” comes news of their second album that has been almost a decade in the making. Horizons, due out later this year.
