Mercedez-Benz Fashion Festival Sydney

What better way to celebrate one’s birthday than at the Mercedez-Benz Fashion Festival Sydney on Friday 26th September.

It was an evening of fashion, friends and flicker of bright lights at Sydney’s iconic Town Hall.  As it delivered a glamour packed four days of new fashion trends, showcasing over 60 leading Australian designers and retail brands.

Firstly, I needed the look for the evening and I rang up Sydney’s fashion & personal stylist, Kiri Yanchenko (Fashion Blender).  Kiri is so much fun when it comes to shopping for the right outfit and all within a budget you set out.  I needed some accessories to help with my current wardrobe – she had a look at my wardrobe and started to discuss way how we can using existing clothing and analysis what my body type is  and what style of clothing woud work well.  Kiri is available for colour consultation (what colours suit your skin tone), Wardrobe Analysis, Personal Shopping Experiences including other services tailored to your specific needs.

Now that we cured “I’ve got nothing to wear” syndrome, now it’s “how should I do my hair?”.  Guys, if you have got thick and wavy hair like I do – you could play around with this and go with a slick black greasy look or maybe mess it up with product.  Since it was my birthday – I seeked advice from a Mark (Evoke Hair & Makeup), young and vibrant UK hair stylist to make magic happen.  The team here at Evoke Hair are great, not only are their prices are reasonable, the genuine service you receive and style advice is honest.  Ever been to a department store picking out clothes thinking does it work and the team are like “yes” (when they know it doesn’t).  It’s the same with hair – I told Mark three things – b’day treat, attending the Runway event at MBFFS and this is what I’m wearing.  You can tell his mind was ticking and all he saw was a flurry of flashbulbs as I enter with my gorgeous friends to the show – the hair completes the look and I’ve got a great idea!

The Red Carpet Runway wowed the audience with an elegant showcase of Australian eveningwear and couture from Akira to Carla Zampatti, Calibre to Alex Perry. Designers Steven Khalil, Gwendolynne and Betty Tran were among those on the runway and attended front row.

Hanged out at the Festival Hub after the runway show for loads of FREE stuff just for ticket holders. Redken hosted a Touch-up Bar to help you get glammed up with the latest hair trends from the runway and must-have products. You can also win some Redken samples from the claw machine. Maybelline NY where you can get tips and tricks on looking beautiful.  Tempus Two ‘Cliq Booth’ for fun snaps with the friends.
