Menulog has got $10 burritos coming your way this week to celebrate International Burrito Day on Thursday 7 April. To celebrate Menulog is offering $10 burritos until Monday 11 April. Simply order a burrito from Taco Bell or Burrito Bar to claim $10 burritos.
According to new data from Menulog, we Aussies do like our burritos, but is the state divided by our choices?
Ay Caramba! It turns out Aussies named Sarah and Michael are the biggest burrito fiends, having ordered more burritos in the last year than any other Aussies!
Chicken took out the top spot as Australia’s favourite filling. It looks like more Aussies are saving for a house this year because guacamole is NOT the top addition to our burritos, with 1 in 5 Australians (19%) choosing chipotle sauce instead!
I mean, who’s a guac fan? (me)
One in five Aussies (20%) kicked beans to the kerb, opting to remove them from their order. Lastly, vegetarians proved not to be big burrito fans this year, with only 11% of Australians opting for the vego option!
NSW has been crowned Australia’s biggest burrito-lovers, ordering 42% of the total burritos ordered in the country! Victorians, however, clearly weren’t feeling the fiesta vibes, ordering only 18% of the total burritos in the last year.
Tasmania took out the top spot when it comes to the pickiest state, with an average of 3 burrito personalisations per order and being the top state for vegos, with a quarter (24%) of burrito orders being vegetarian!
For the rest of the states, findings include:
-
ACT are the biggest guac-heads, with a whopping 41% of orders including guacamole
-
NT are the least fussy orderers, with only one addition to orders on average
-
NT are also the spiciest state, with 37% of burrito orders being spicy
-
WA are the most carb-conscious, with almost a third (30%) of burrito orderers opting for a bowl
Rory Murphy, Commercial Director at Menulog, said, “We know Aussies love a burrito, whether it’s for lunch, dinner or a late-night snack after a big night out. We’re excited to help the nation celebrate International Burrito Day and uncover some of the top trends and divisive, hotly debated opinions across the country regarding how to best enjoy a burrito.”
