Merivale is celebrating the return of dancing in Sydney with Let’s Dance!, a diverse line-up of live music, DJs and club nights set to launch on Monday 29 March, just in time for the Easter long weekend. Helping to reignite dance floors across the city and support local music talent, Let’s Dance! is jam-packed with amazing DJs, bands and more than a few disco balls.

A long-time champion of live music and nightlife in Sydney, Merivale invested heavily in DJs and live music as soon as restrictions were eased last June. Now, as Sydney dusts off its dancing shoes, Merivale’s music program is being supercharged to 200+ gigs and DJ sets every single week.

Across the Easter long weekend, the group is playing host to some of the hottest acts in the country like Confidence Man, Winston Surfshirt, Touch Sensitive, Lazywax, PALMS and Halfway Crooks.

The weekly program of music events will also make its return including: POOF DOOF’s Snap, Crackle, Pop at ivy on Saturday nights; the long-running Salsa Tuesdays at Establishment, Sunday afternoon party institution Marco Polo at ivy Pool Club; and regular live music programming across the group’s many venues including Palmer & Co, The Royal, The Vic on the Park, The Newport and Coogee Rooftop.

Justin Hemmes, CEO of Merivale, said: “We are thrilled to finally reopen our dance floors and see the people of Sydney experience the joy and freedom of dance again. The dance floor is a special place; it is somewhere people can freely express themselves, feel alive and connected to each other”.

Nick Van Tiel, Head of Music & Entertainment, said: “The dance floor is a vital source of creativity for music talent; it is where artists, especially those starting out, can introduce new sounds, refine their skills and build a connection with people. We want to make up for lost time and create as many opportunities for local talent to play as much music as possible. The last twelve months have been devastating for the music industry, so we need everyone to get out there and support the exceptional music talent we are so lucky to have in Australia”.

Shani Soneji, Team Leader at ivy Pool Club, said: ‘There is nothing more gratifying than working at a venue buzzing with people having a great time. The team is pumped for the weeks ahead. The energy is going to be electric”.
