Sydney’s CBD has a new spot that’s sure to be music to your taste buds. Kanade, which means harmony and beautiful sounds of instruments, is inspired by a deep appreciation for the intricacies of Japanese cuisine and culture, Kanade seeks to bring people together all day over good drinks, food, company and conversations.
Kanade’s innovative “Tokyo Noon” and “Tokyo Twilight” concepts offer a seamless transition from day to night, reflecting the vibrant energy of Sydney CBD. Whether you’re in search of a quick lunch, post-work drinks, a romantic date spot or a night out with friends, Kanade is the go-to spot for busy corporates and after-work revellers alike.
Kanade’s menu, a seamless blend of traditional Japanese flavours with contemporary twists, is the product of an experienced team of chefs who have honed their craft across Asia, Europe, and Australia in venues like Lumi Dining and Kuon Omakase, these chefs bring their expertise to create an innovative and exciting dining experience.
And if you are seeking a truly premium one-of-a-kind dining experience, Kanade is offering Australia’s first Japanese-Italian fusion kaiseki, a traditional multi-course Japanese meal with Italian influences. But with only 12 seats available each week for one month only, make sure you act fast.
Complimenting the menu is a drinks list expertly crafted by top industry professionals from Maybe Sammy and Tetsuya. The unique range of Japanese-inspired cocktails pushes the boundaries of mixology. From sharing-friendly cocktails served in sake barrels to secretive experimental cocktails, some of which are a first in Australia, the menu is designed to surprise and delight guests.
“We wanted to create a space where people can come together over good food, drinks, and conversation all day long,” said Erick. “Our goal is to bring a piece of Tokyo to Sydney’s CBD, with a fusion of the best of east and west.”
The interior of Kanade harmoniously blends traditional Japanese elements with contemporary accents, fully embodying the restaurant’s theme. Nestled within a heritage building, brick and timber walls adorned with retro Tokyo vibes blend seamlessly with red timber columns that emulate the iconic torii gates of Japan. Semi-private dining rooms offer a cozy space for intimate gatherings, whether for business or pleasure, while the open 360-degree stone sushi counter creates a theatrical dining experience, allowing diners to witness the skilled preparation of their sushi.
“We’re excited to introduce Kanade to Sydney’s vibrant food and drink scene and welcome Sydneysiders to experience a piece of Tokyo in the heart of the CBD,” said Erick.
