Western Sydneysiders will be able to play, like they’ve never played before, with the launch of Funlab’s new entertainment precinct at Westfield Penrith on December 16, 2022. Featuring the brand’s famous Holey Moley and Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq venues, the 350 occupancy precinct will allow locals to try their luck on arcade games, spare a strike at bowling, put their putting skills to the test with mini golf, and indulge in an array of delicious food and beverage options.
The ‘kidult’ venues will feature two bars, arcade games galore, six bowling lanes, and 18 holes of golf, just in time for summer. Whether guests are planning the party of the decade, looking for the best mini golf in Western Sydney, or hoping to score a strike in bowling, Penrith Holey Moley and Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq have guests sorted.
Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq
At Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq, guests can try their luck with a kaleidoscopic circus of traditional and new arcade games, score a strike on the ten-pin bowling lanes, and be rewarded with an array of prizes, all in a day’s play – giving 80s and 90s nostalgia a new life.
A feast for the senses, the circus inspired wonderland is fit with red velvet drapes, colourful flashing neon arcade signs, and a carousel bar that draws the eye upon entering, while the smell of popcorn and fairy floss emanates through the venue. Even the bowling lanes are transformed from traditional ten-pin bowling, into a circus wonderland themed game.
Guests can further tantalise their senses and skip up to the bar, built to resemble a vintage carousel, where Archie’s crazy cocktails and iconic loaded shakes are just as much a feast for visitors’ eyes as they are for their tastebuds. Popular cocktails and shakes include the Candy Stand – a boozy strawberry shake with a splash of White Rum and Frangelico, vanilla candy frosted rim and a giant lollipop, topped with whipped cream and sprinkles. And Pop Til you Drop – a cocktail flavour explosion, with fireball, butterscotch, apple juice, maple popcorn, bitters and whipped cream.
Holey Moley
Holey Moley has taken Australia by storm and lets guests putt their stuff around 18 unique themed holes including favourites: 742 Simpsons Evergreen Terrace, and Sugar and Slice. The venue will debut five new holes exclusively tailored for Penrith: Oops I darted, The Upside Down, Loop Tee Loop, and Just roll with it, as well as a fresh, local, take on Morning Tea with Nanna, featuring a special nod to local sporting heroes, Penrith Panthers.
Win or lose, the fun doesn’t stop with mini golf though, guests can enjoy a drink at the renowned Caddyshack bar, a nostalgic 80s and 90s themed bar with signature cocktails and eats, perfect for all off-the-green needs.
Funlab CEO Michael Schreiber said following the success of multiple inner Sydney locations, the Westfield Penrith venue will be Funlab’s first venue in Western Sydney, an exciting addition to Funlab’s Sydney portfolio.
“We are overjoyed to launch this new precinct and introduce Western Sydney locals to an unparalleled entertainment experience. The arrival will showcase the opening of both Holey Moley and Archie Brothers, in Penrith’s iconic Riley Street, amplifying the destination hub with further food, beverage, and experience options, in one of Western Sydney’s most popular shopping centres,” Mr Schreiber said.
Set in Westfield Penrith’s Riley Street dining precinct, Funlab’s Holey Moley and Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq will provide entertainment, dining, and beverage options for everyone to enjoy. Signature cocktails including the Sugar Caddy and Rub a Dub Tub will be available, and when it comes to the snacks, all ingredients are sustainably sourced from local Australian producers.
Scentre Group Regional Centre Experience Manager Danii Ashton said Funlab’s offering is the perfect addition to Westfield Penrith’s new vibrant food and entertainment destination.
“Our vision has always been to create a dynamic destination for families to come together and enjoy quality time together and we are delighted to work with Funlab to introduce an unmissable experience here at Westfield Penrith that everyone can enjoy,” Ms Ashton said.
