Get those ties and frocks out ladies and gentleman, as FASHION + AID 2016, proudly sponsored by smsglobal, is gearing up and ready to strut some of Australia’s hottest designers and threads down the runway at the inaugural event, to be held on Saturday 10 September at the Crown Palladium in Melbourne.
Out with the show-pony, it’s all about fashion with a capital ‘F’ this year as the event reigns in a stellar celebration of nine sold-out years of show-stopping performances. Extravagance and decadence can be expected this year, with a list of incredible designers showcasing their latest collections, including: Dom Bagnato, Calibre, Ace The Label, Sheep Shearer, Couture Mantra Runway, TRAVISTY, nANA jUDY, Leona Edmiston, Ka’llure Jewellery, Catherine R Couture, Josepha & Co, and one special guest designer that will soon be announced!
Set to be its most lavish event to date, FASHION + AID will be hosted by none other than Dave Hughes, along with an exclusive performance by newly reformed electro-pop rockers, the Rogue Traders, with lead singer Natalie Bassingthwaighte who will perform their most fashionable hits on the night.
Along with each of the three runway shows will also be musical performances during the presentations from 11 guest performers, some of which include: Local DJ Superstar – Andy Murphy, 10 YR WAR, Eva Scolaro, Emily Williams, Hayley Teal, Carla Troiano, Lauren Tatyana, Sarah Capodicasa and Frida Harnesk.
The inspiration behind this year’s event is none other than New York’s ‘Met Ball’, so ladies and gentleman, dust off those suits and start hunting for those frocks because this year’s event will be just as much about you on the red carpet, as it is the designers showcasing themselves.
This year, the event will be raising money for two charities, the Leukaemia Foundation’s Building of Hope, as well as Fight Cancer Foundation, which Deborra-lee Furness and Hugh Jackman are patrons of.
With luxurious dining and a three-course meal, beer and wine, tickets start from $295 per ticket, with tables of 10 starting from $2,950. So, be prepared to have your breath taken away by captivating musical performances and a full runway show of some of Australia’s best and up-and-coming designers.
