With its rich Aztec history, the darkly beautiful Mexican festival Día De Muertos has quickly become a popular festival celebrated all over the world – and if there’s one way to join in on the festivities, it’s raising a glass and celebrating the spirits with PATRÓN Tequila.
“With Tequila now the fastest-growing spirit serve in Australia, we anticipate more Australians than ever before will celebrate Día De Muertos this year and transport themselves to Mexico with PATRÓN Tequila cocktails and banquets at home, or at their favourite Mexican bars and restaurants”, says Steph Sarantakos, PATRÓN’s Marketing Manager in Australia.
Originating in the Aztec era of the 16th Century, Día de Muertos stems from the belief that during the celebration our deceased loved ones have divine permission to visit us on earth to spend time with families and friends. It is a joyous time where families across Mexico honour passed loved ones with offerings and decorations throughout their homes, including marigold flowers, sugar skulls and papel picado – brightly coloured flags.
“As the home place and heartbeat of PATRÓN Tequila, Mexico, its people and culture are the core of what makes the brand loved around the world! With its iconic symbolism and fascinating history, PATRÓN is the perfect for any Día de Muertos celebrations” notes Sarantakos.
This year PATRÓN Tequila is inspiring Australians to raise their spirits with themed cocktails El Diablo and Paloma Roja featuring their ultra-premium spirit made from 100% Weber Blue Agave, the highest quality raw ingredients with zero additives.
For Día de Muertos celebrations, PATRÓN Tequila has teamed up with talented Australian artist Chris Costa to create bespoke artwork to recognise the occasion and build excitement for future celebrations to come.
