The best of Merivale comes to the beach!

Coogee Foreshore Festival, the delightfully delicious carnival that brings the best of Merivale to the beach, returns to Coogee Pavilion on Sunday 20 March. The closing event of Merivale’s five-week feast of the senses, Foreshore Festival will take over Coogee Pavilion and the promenade with a sensational range of food and drink stalls, live music, roving entertainment and family games, all for $25-$45 . Coogee Pavilion’s ground floor will be transformed into a bustling market place where guests can choose from Vincenzo Biondini’s famous wood-fired pizzas, freshly shucked oysters, the Coogee Dinner burger with bacon and sleazy cheese, kingfish wrapped in vine leaves or rich burrata with apple, honey, thyme and almond crumb. Veuve Clicquot will be on hand with a decadent pop-up bar to wash down the finger-licking fare.

The scents and sounds won’t be confined to the Coogee Pavilion dome. The seaside celebration will spill out onto the promenade with pop-up stalls from some of Merivale’s favourite venues including Papi Chulo, El Loco, Mr. Wong and sushi e, offering everything from hotdogs and tacos to soft-shell crab rolls and dumplings.

It wouldn’t be a foreshore festival without gelato so Coogee will be serving up a refreshing selection including the Pavilion’s specially-created ‘Fat Tony’ – a creamy base with marsala soaked sponge, crumbled amaretti, chocolate and espresso swirls.

Kids of all ages will be entertained by an amazing range of family activities throughout the day – from face painting and whacky balloon twisters to carnival games, hula hooping and puppet shows. The Coogee Foreshore Festival will also feature brilliant live performances by The Aston Martinis, with their mix of cool swing, classic soul and bucket loads of energy.

A normal day at Coogee Pavilion already has an amazing carnival vibe, so this event is the perfect way for us to go bigger, better and really up the fun factor”.

Coogee Foreshore Festival is part of March into Merivale, a five week feast for all the senses, running until 20 March.Inspired by our most decadent and outrageous guilty pleasures, the festival boasts over 35 events and will see thousands of bon vivants indulge in world-class food, wine, cocktails and champagne from dozens of Merivale’s incredible restaurants and bars.
