Club Med has recently announced the opening of its most anticipated summer season with a raft of resort opening and redesign news across Europe and Asia including;

  • The launch of the all-inclusive provider’s first 5-Trident resort in the Mediterranean, Club Med Cefalu in Sicily, Italy
  • The re-opening of the original Club Med property, Opio En Provence, France and launch of the first CREACTIVE by Cirque du Soleil playground in Europe
  • The completion of the resort redesign at Club Med Bintan Island, Indonesia

Located on the northern coast of Sicily within a quaint traditional fishing village, Club Med Cefalu boasts breathtaking panoramic views, situated within a natural reserve of rugged cliffs. The picturesque old town, positioned away from crowded hot spots, features charming winding alleys, a dramatic cathedral and beautiful sandy beaches. Amidst this stunning location with 180-degree views over the bay, Cefalu will demonstrate Club Med’s innovation, premium guest benefits and personalised services. The new resort will open its doors to guests from June 2018 and is sure to be the go-to destination for those looking to relax and embrace the Sicilian-Chic ‘farniente’.

Madeleine Clow-Suares, General Manager of Club Med ANZ, says: “Cefalu, in Sicily, is the essence of Italian life with history on every winding street.  This breathtaking location is also the home to one of Club Med first resorts.  In 2018 Club Med Cefalu will re-open as our flagship resort showing the perfect European balance between sophistication in design, Italian life and the warmth that comes from that Club Med touch.”

“Club Med Cefalu will give Australian travellers the perfect opportunity to combine visiting Italy with a relaxing and indulgent luxury experience.”

As part of Club Med’s premium 5-trident tailored experience, guests at Cefalu will experience exquisite service from arrival to departure. This includes a personalised welcome at the airport with a private transfer to the resort. Once at the resort, buggies can be hired at no extra cost to get around in style – and free flow champagne is available for all guests from 6pm.

For foodie travellers, the resort’s specialty restaurant, the ‘Palazzo Gourmet Lounge’, will serve an a la carte dinner menu designed by renowned Michelin 4-star chef, Andrea Berton. A wine bar will offer cigars, while an in-resort delicatessen in Partnership with EATALY will be open throughout the day.

Catering to those guests looking to relax and unwind, Cefalu’s Zen Bar and Zen Pool will be situated in the secluded surroundings away from the main area of the resort offering smoothies and aromatic waters – the perfect place to practice peace and tranquillity or enjoy a nutritious, healthy meal.

Club Med Cefalu takes accommodation to the next level with a selection of Deluxe rooms, suites, and Villettas, as well as Club Rooms. Each room includes high-end furnishing and the latest technology to ensure the most comfortable and luxurious stay possible. The opening of Cefalu will see the introduction of the first ever stand up paddleboard academy, where guests can take part in group sessions to learn this skill whilst gliding over the Mediterranean sea.

For a limited period only, Club Med Cefalu will be available to book with an exclusive Early Bird Offer of $1,875per guest, per week based on twin-share in a Club Room. Prices are based on arrival of 23 September 2018.

Club Med are also proud to announce the re-launch of Club Med Opio en Provence, France.

The resort is home to Europe’s first ever playground, CREACTIVE by Cirque du Soleil, where both adults and children can discover the wonders of the acrobatic world learning over 25 activities from Club Med GOs (dedicated staff) trained by Cirque du Soleil.

For the little ones, there are new Kids Club activities including Club Med’s Petit Chef program and colourful tie-dying.
