Mudgee Wine Food Festival

Balmoral Beach will once again play home to the Mudgee Wine & Food Festival on Sunday 11 August, welcoming some of the region’s most popular wineries and producers to the city. Still the longest-running regional wine and food festival in Sydney, activities will run from 11am-5pm, launching the official 40th Mudgee Wine + Food Festival program and the 2019 Mudgee Region magazine.

The Mudgee Region is a destination on everyone’s bucket list right now, and rightly so. Known primarily for its boutique wine and sophisticated country charm with around 40 family-owned wineries, a distillery and brewery, it is nestled in the hills and surrounded by quaint country towns, rich with heritage and a variety of established quality visitor experiences.

Located less than 270km northwest of Sydney, the fuss-free journey is all part of the adventure, and what awaits is a stunning mix of charm and sophistication. It’s just a 3.5-hour drive from Sydney, or 45-minute flight from Sydney airport with flights departing each day.

Transforming the entire foreshore of Balmoral Beach, festival-goers can sip on wines by Craigmoor Wines, De Beaurepaire Wines, Moothi Estate, Robert Stein Winery and First Ridge Estate to name a few, while enjoying hero local producers like High Valley Cheese Co., Lomondo Olive Oil, Milnes of Mudgee and Rylstone Olive Press.

Event organisers are expecting record-breaking crowds as the festival continues to grow, now in its 29th year.

“The Mudgee Region has quickly become one of the most loved regional destinations in Australia, thanks to our people, produce and incredibly authentic country charm. Our food and wine experiences are world-renowned, with award-winning wineries, cellar doors, farmers and producers.”

“We are thrilled to bring the love of Mudgee to Balmoral again this year, giving Sydney-siders the chance to enjoy our beautiful region ahead of the 40th Mudgee Wine & Food Festival (7 September – 1 October 2019).”  Cara George, CEO of Mudgee Region Tourism

The Balmoral Wine & Food Festival is the perfect introduction to the region, and is a great day for the whole family – offering a petting zoo for the kids and live music throughout the afternoon.

Additionally, Mudgee Region Tourism will also surprise one lucky attendee with the ultimate short-break escape to Mudgee valued at over $2,000, including return flights, accommodation and activities. For more festival information please visit
