Marquee at The Star, Sydney is marking a decade as the city’s premiere music venue with a welcome return of internationally renowned American DJ, record producer and house music icon, Armand van Helden on Saturday 19th March 2022.
Following an extensive refurbishment and refresh late last year, the 2,000m2 state-of-the-art nightclub will be hosting the critically acclaimed van Helden in his first Australian appearance since 2018.
A worldwide institution synonymous with dance music and celebrity entertainment, Marquee first opened its doors in Sydney in 2012. Since then, the establishment has played an instrumental role in bringing international talent to our shores, hosting hundreds of global acts.
Talking of the milestone, Duane Buriani-Gennai, Programming Director of Marquee explains, “With the music and nightlife industry hit hard over the last few years, we’re ecstatic to be celebrating this important milestone for our venue with the return of one of the dance music world’s biggest acts in Armand van Helden.”
“We’ve been so honoured to be able to offer Sydney music lovers exclusive access to the likes of Calvin Harris, Bruno Mars, Drake, Alesso, Future, Migos, Post Malone and Tiesto over the past decade and we can’t wait to see what the next 10 years hold.”
Following the venue’s renovations late last year, guests can now experience a new state-of-the-art L’Acoustics sound system, the first of its kind in a major club venue in Australia, a redesigned DJ booth that brings artists even closer to the fans alongside lighting and production upgrades sure to make van Helden’s performance an unforgettable one.
Talking of his excitement to headline Marquee’s 10th birthday celebrations and his return to Australia, van Helden explained, “It’s incredibly moving to be able to travel and play shows internationally again. I’m especially honoured to be headlining Marquee’s 10th birthday given it is such an institution within Sydney’s music and dance scene. I can’t wait to feel the unrivaled energy from the Australian crowd and toast to another 10 years of this iconic venue.”
