Haymarket welcomes The Grove rooftop

The Grove Rooftop, Novotel Sydney Central

When I think of Haymarket I automatically think of Sydney’s Chinatown and Thaitown, where lots of Asian cuisine restaurants are at your doorstep and too many to choose from. I don’t really relate to going there for a drink.

Who knew, this suburb has a rooftop bar, perfect to soak in the summer ray and quenching your thirst with a Hendricks Gin on ice or a Solerno Serata cocktail. Perched on level eight of the Novotel Sydney Central hotel until 31 March 2017.

At the launch of the The Grove rooftop bar, my friends and I were welcomed to the hotel’s outdoor garden which once was mini-golf (putt-putt) course. The pop-bar features greenery as far as the eye can see, an abundance of fairy lights, festoon lighting and of course views of the surrounding area; all set under the stars.

Ben Mellor, Novotel Sydney Central General Manager said: “Sydney-siders can’t get enough of rooftop bars and the pop-up Grove Rooftop offers a unique experience combining both a rooftop and garden bar in one. Rather than creating a stuffy and overpriced rooftop bar experience, we decided to create a laid back casual atmosphere for our bar patrons, and this is reflected in the styling choices and food and beverage options available”.

American influence bar, the Grove Rooftop offers a selection of can beers along with a limited selection of wines and spirits. Executive Chef Aman Prasad created dishes dishes that was easy to eat and designed to share with a group of friends. Such mouth-watering delights were loaded fries topped with bacon, melted cheese and chipotle mayo, and nacho style hot chips loaded with spicy ground beef, melted mozzarella, jalapeño and sour cream.

The bar featured recycled timber furniture with accents of raw iron and director chair seating, to create a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere reflective of the bars desired clientele. Powered by UE Boom’s Mega Boom Bluetooth speakers to bring in the beats. Weather and shock proof speakers pump out incredible 360-degree music experience.

The Grove rooftop is open to Novotel Sydney Central guests and to the public from Wednesday to Sunday from 5:30pm until 10pm until 31 March 2017. It’s even available for private events until December 2017.
